The Year of Our Relationships

Every year our workshops have a common theme and this year we will weave a carpet of likes and dislikes, commitments and dissolutions throughout the Year of our Relationships.

The Spring Equinox workshop explores the idea of restoring harmonious balance where there has been conflict. This workshop is called Never under estimate the power of love because we will be working with ways to intuit conflict before it erupts like a volcano. We will be exploring ways to listen more deeply to others by temporarily forgetting our own agendas and opinions.

This enables us to listen compassionately to the other person. In this workshop we begin the year with learning to be more at peace with the shifting sands in our relationships.

Traditionally, the Summer Solstice is a time of divining the second half of the year and we will be doing that! We already read signs with one another when we sense concern, joy and resentment, without anyone saying a word.

We predict storms patterns and we go to great lengths to predict political races and car races as well. The stock market is also favorite sport of speculation.  In this workshop we will have fun going deep into our intuition.

During the Autumn Equinox we will be practicing ways to sense when it is time to leave a relationship. This is an art in and of itself. Sometimes we get so caught up in beginning new relationships that we forget to leave our current situation with dignity and grace. Sometimes we just leave a mess that comes back around to us in the future. The practice of discernment helps us to utilize ways of coping that reduces the pain of leaving.

We finish the year of our relationships with a Winter Solstice celebration. This workshop is all about the art of overcoming. We all have had things that have knocked us down and we had to learn to get back up.

This workshop has plenty of spiritual activity and it is a very healing gathering.

The myth of the Phoenix bird teaches us that she was flying along and falls prey to the fire of desire, also known as the love of power. She dives wildly and passionately into her desires, and then she is consumed by them. All that is left is ashes, or so it appears. After a period of time, she gathers herself together and overcomes. She overcomes her pain and she flies higher and further than before, because she never truly underestimated the power of love.

Peace be with you

Saturday, June 22nd from 10am-2pm.

The art of seeing.

The Solstice has traditionally been a time of “reading the signs” of what is to come for the second half of the year. And this year we won’t disappoint. We will be doing some divination techniques to help us see where we can best put our intentions to strengthen our personal relationships.

We will also look more deeply into our relationship with nature, animals, the Earth and the stars. Learning to read the signs in nature is both ancient and modern. We read each other all the time, we just don’t call it that, however, we are not always correct in our assessments of one another.

This workshop is deep, but we usually have a lot of joy learning to read the signs with one another.

We all need practice in learning to see, rather than merely looking at things.

Saturday, September 21st from 10am-2pm

The art of discernment.

The  Autumn Equinox is when we begin to see abundance enter into a state of dormancy, we see foliage cover the ground like a carpet of gold. This is the time to consider the relationship between intuition and discernment.

Intuition becomes so much more accurate when it is pared with the practice of discernment. Problems for our intuition arise when there are desires and attachments for a certain outcome. That causes our intuition to become  muddled. When we practice discernment with our intuition, it gives our decisions a chance to have more favorable outcomes.

We will be exploring ways to listen more deeply to our instincts. We too have the ability to sense danger like we observe in dogs, but sometimes we tend to act more like bulls and run towards red flags. Not so good.

Saturday, December 21st from 10am-2pm

The art of overcoming.

In our darkest hour, all we want is light. We want to feel the warmth of hope and the illumination of wisdom. We want to be comforted by love. We all experience fear of darkness; maybe of the night, or perhaps it comes in the form of deep confusion, which is a kind of darkness. Whatever the reason it falls on everyone.

For thousands of years the Winter Solstice has been revered as the holiest time of the year. Various peoples and religions have claimed it for themselves, but this sacred time of death and rebirth belongs to all of us.

This Workshop is unique in that we do a little more ritual than in the other gatherings. Did you bristle at the word ritual? There’s nothing to bristle about, because sacred ritual is designed to help you find your way to the light, without being led by others.

Our day will be spent doing rituals the involve fire, because fire purifies and cleanses the past. We will also do a ritual with water, because water also purifies. Water cleanses our intentions for the future.

This is the day we celebrate the human being, because human beings have the best stories of overcoming themselves in all the Universe.
