The Virtue is Love

The Saboteur is Desire

Love is the answer to everything.

Love is the reason for everything, and so, we wonder why we have pain in the world. We say, there can’t be a God, because the evidence of pain makes that true. But, pain is the source of compassion. It is the reason we are able to experience healing. Love is healing, it is also the process. Love comforts pain, it laughs when the lost is found. Love weeps for those who seem forgotten, it awakens and renews. Love’s life partner is pain. The two are entwined throughout eternity. Pain knows love and teaches us to never let go of love. Pain reminds us that we have taken one step too far away from the warmth of the light of love, and stepped into the shadow, where pain resides.

Love is always hidden in plain sight. It’s always there. When your heart is taut and hard because of someone’s words, love is present and well hidden. When you feel you must teach them how it feels, and you hurt those who have hurt you, your heart will remind you that love was always present, but you forgot to choose it. Choosing love saves, choosing pain delays. The pleasure of love is always a choice away.

I can’t believe how much I love him. I want to hold him and kiss him and let him know I will never leave him. I love the way he smells, I think about him all the time. I miss him when I don’t see him. I love to watch him sleep. I love my baby. I love my son.

I love him so much it hurts. I miss him when he must be away from me. I can’t sleep because thoughts of him makes my heart race. I love the way his smell lingers on my clothes. I love to watch him sleep. I love my baby. I love my husband.

I love Hm with all of my heart. I love the way He loves me. I love knowing He’ll never leave me. I love the way He listens to my darkest moments and still His love doesn’t hesitate. I love the way He comforts me, inspires me and carries me home when I can’t take another step. I love Him, The Divine One.

Love, a simple word, so complex, so divine. Love, a word that has brought about war and has brought an end to those wars. Love, a simple word, so complex, so divine.

The mystery of love. Why does it hurt and relieve? Why do we chase it, deny it, protect it and flaunt it? Why don’t we feel it when we’re lost in the dark? We always seem to feel it when we’re lost in pleasure. Why do we resist love when we need to be saved from our self? We want love, we desire love and yet, we push love away.

We sequester ourselves, hoping love will reveal itself through our visions and prayers. We pray for love, we beg for love, we sacrifice for love. We even bargain with God for love. Why do we build elegant cathedrals and temples to love? Is it because we know that we forget to love? Beauty reminds us to love. Sitting where people cry to God, marry their sweethearts and eulogize their families helps us to remember the bitter sweetness of love. This is the kind of beauty that makes us weep. When we sit in the beauty of devotion, we remember love, we remember, we remember we are love.

Peace be with you Namaste
